EstimatesEstimates, add-on offers, renewals and price changes. Works in either Billing Mode.

{YYYY} is the year, {YY} the short year, {####} the next number padded to that many digits.

The next new estimate takes this number.

An estimate expires this many days after it is sent. A template can set its own.

Shown on every estimate above the signature. A template can set its own. [company_legal_name] fills in your Legal Name.

What approving takes. The typed name, consent and time are always recorded.

On: accepted lines become assignments and waiting-list Services the moment the customer approves. Off: the office clicks Convert.

On: add-ons start checked on the customer page (a template line can still say otherwise).

What a program line shows the customer.

Monthly price = season total ÷ this. The prepay discount is set once, in Invoices settings.

Marking an estimate won or lost asks for a reason from the lists under Estimates > Setup.

Price Change notices go out at least this many days before the new price starts.

How long the link in an estimate email or text keeps working.

Tags: [estimate_number] [estimate_total] [estimate_expires] [estimate_link] plus the usual customer tags.

On: an estimate the customer opened gets no more reminders.

Pricing Budget. What a field person is paid per hour on average.

Payroll taxes, workers comp, unemployment and paid time off, as a percent of wages. A direct cost.

Paid time you cannot bill (setup, cleanup, shop time).

Field labor hours spreads overhead over every budgeted field hour. One percent adds overhead as a percent of direct cost.

Rent, office pay, insurance, software, trucks not on a Service, and so on, for the year.

Billable field hours planned for the year. Overhead per hour = annual overhead ÷ these hours.

Used when the method is One percent.

Margin is profit as a percent of the price. Price = breakeven ÷ (1 − margin). A 30% margin is a 42.9% markup.

Estimates earning less per hour are flagged. 0 turns it off.

One per line, like "Sprayer = 6.50": your cost per field hour for each piece of equipment.MoreLess
What It Does
Adds your equipment cost per field hour to estimate prices.
What It Changes
Lines with no equipment picked count all of them on every field hour; lines with equipment picked count only those, with the markup and downtime below.
How to Use
  1. Type one per line, like Sprayer = 6.50.
  2. Pick which equipment each line uses, if any.
  3. Click Save.

On: estimates open in the Estimate Builder with live profit gauges. Off: the classic estimate screen.

Estimate Builder. Added to equipment cost per hour. Rate = cost × (1 + markup) ÷ (1 − downtime).

Estimate Builder. Time equipment sits in the shop or idle, so each working hour carries a little more.

Your target mark on the Gross Profit gauge: price minus labor, equipment and materials, before overhead.

On: an estimate can offer 2 or 3 tiers the customer picks from (like Good, Better, Best). Off: one list only.

Estimate Builder. 2 or 3 names, separated by commas, that new tiers start with. Each estimate can rename its own.
