Smart Routing: best stop order, ETAs and team balancing
Optimize a day on Base, see the savings, Apply or Undo, ETAs on Route, re-route when running late, and best days for new customers.
Off until an admin turns it on in Settings > Modules > Smart Routing. Off, Base keeps the basic drive order. Every choice is a setting on the Smart Routing gear (Base > Routing Savings > Settings).
Optimize a day
- On Base, pick one day (and a team if you like) and tap Optimize.
- You see miles, drive time, fuel and the last finish before and after, and each team's change. Nothing changes yet.
- Tap Apply New Order to save it, or Keep Current. Undo stays on Base after applying.
Started, done and locked stops never move. Dragging a stop on Base locks it there (Lock Stops I Move By Hand). Tap the lock to free it.
Where the day starts and ends
- Each team starts at its Start Address (Employees > Teams), or the Shop Address in Smart Routing Settings.
- A team can also have an End Address. With none, it ends at its start, or the shop.
Teams, windows and spraying
- Balance Teams moves a stop to another team only when it is worth it and that team already works within the set miles.
- Arrive Between times on a property are kept (Respect Arrive-Between Windows) when they can be. Late arrivals show in the preview.
- With Weather-Aware Spray Order on, spray stops go first while the wind is under the Wind Limit. A small wind chip shows on Route.
Route
- Each stop shows its ETA under the stop number. The address and detail lines stay one line each.
- When the office changes the order, a one-line Route updated note shows with See Changes.
- Running late, the office can Re-route the rest of today. Late texts are only drafts to copy; nothing is sent.
Best days and the Round Planner
- An open estimate shows the best days to add the customer, by the nearest team already in the area.
- Routing Savings > Round Planner suggests Services that could fit better on another day. Suggestions only.
Distances use a built-in estimate (straight line x 1.3). For road miles, add a free OpenRouteService key (HeiGIT account) in Smart Routing Settings.
Where and How
routing.free_account_heigit_org
Free from account.heigit.org (OpenRouteService), for real road drive times. Stored encrypted; never shown again. Blank keeps Built-in.

Copy and send from Messages if you want to. Nothing is sent from here.

What It Does

- Check the Start Point is found.

A bar for each week's savings.
What It Changes
Read only. Undone days are not counted.

Routing savings for each team: days, stops, miles and drive time saved.
What It Does
Compares each day's order before Optimize with the order applied.
What It Changes
Read only. Fuel and labor costs come from Routing settings.

- Change fuel or labor costs in Settings if they're off.

Lists each Service with its day now, a better day and the drive time it saves.

Nothing moves until you move it on Base.

The days a team already works near this property, for starting new Services.
What It Does
Lists the best days in the weeks ahead with a team close by.
What It Changes
Read only. Booking a suggested day keeps drive time down.

- Pick a suggested day.
- Assign the program from that day.
- Check Base.
