Commission, Bonuses and Performance Pay
Who gets credit for a sale, commission rules, clawbacks, bonuses, the leaderboard, performance pay for techs, approving a week and the payroll CSV.
Commission figures what each person earned from sales, upsells, bonuses and performance pay. It is off until an admin turns it on in Settings > Modules > Commission & Bonus, and it only counts work from the day it is turned on. Every rate and rule is a setting under Commission & Bonus > Settings, Rules, Bonuses and Performance Pay.
Who gets credit
- Open the estimate and click Sold By.
- Pick one or more people and their share (shares add up to 100%). A tech who spotted the work goes under Recommended By.
- Click Save. The preview shows what each person earns under today's rules.
If nobody is picked, the estimate's salesperson gets 100% (Default Sold By).
When it counts
Earned When is Service Done while billing is in your billing system, and Paid once Invoices & Payments is on. With Paid, a part payment earns its share. A refund, a void invoice or a declined estimate inside the Clawback window takes the commission back as a minus line. Nothing is ever deleted.
Performance Pay
- In Commission & Bonus > Performance Pay, set each person or team to Hourly, Performance, or Hourly + Performance Bonus.
- Set the rates: % of the Service price, a flat amount per Service, per 1,000 sq ft, or per Program round. A rule for one Service or Program beats the general one.
- When a crew does a Service together, the pay splits by clocked hours (Crew Split). Callbacks lower or zero that pay (Callback Effect).
With Minimum Wage Floor on, anyone on Performance pay whose week comes in under the floor rate for their Time Clock hours gets a Floor Top-Up line. Overtime rules for piece-rate pay vary by state; check with your payroll provider.
Approving and payroll
- After the pay week ends, open Commission & Bonus, check the people to approve and click Approve Selected. Approved weeks lock; later changes land in the next open week.
- Click Export CSV for one row per person per week. If the Time Clock is on, the Time Clock CSV also gets Commission, Bonus, Performance Pay and Floor Top-Up columns.
Staff see only their own money under Route > My Earnings, and the leaderboard without pay. Seeing everyone, approving and changing rules are Admin until you turn them on for a role in Employees & Roles.
